freedom

We’re Freedom, and we produce a superior quality lager. In our experienc the best way to introduce our beer is to pour some in a glass and say ‘try it’. One sip is worth a thousand words. However, since we assume you’ve not had the pleasure of Freedom, let us introduce ourselves.

Britain’s first ever micro-brewed lager

Ever since 1995, when it was Britain’s first ever micro-brewed lager, Freedom has been winning awards and winning the loyalty of a small group of lager drinkers who demand quality in their beer. You’ll find it mostly in the West End and in the more fashionable bars and restaurants in West London. In some ways, Freedom has been a well kept secret, the choice of a select few.

Freedom Brewery Ltd

At Freedom Brewery we believe a lager this good shouldn't hide its light under a bushel. We want to shout from the rooftops about our award winning superior lagers, brewed in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire according to the strict German purity laws. Freedom Organic is even Vegan friendly (most beers aren't). And if a drinker doesn’t care about the ingredients, consider the taste. Even those lager-unfriendly people at CAMRA have given us the nod of approval when it comes to the sheer quality of the beer.

We’re not aiming specifically at the youth market, or any other traditionally identified market. We think women will drink Freedom, men will drink Freedom, indeed anyone who wants something different from their beer.

New brewery and brew

We've set up a new brewery in Abbots Bromley near Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, where we brew Freedom Organic, Freedom Pilsener and Soho Red. We’ve re-assembled the original Freedom brewery and bought a much larger brewery set-up from the States to cope with demand. We’re located on a green field site with its own supply of the famous Burton water, drawn from the alabaster layer of limestone, which has attracted brewers to the Burton area for over three hundred years. We’re also growing our own barley on the farmland so we can control every element of the beer we produce.
